Our Programs
Explore the different ways Elimu Ya Kenya is transforming lives.
Nutrition & Healthcare
At Elimu ya Kenya, we believe that learning cannot happen on an empty stomach. Recognizing that many of our learners arrive from deeply vulnerable communities, we prioritize good nutrition as the bedrock of their health and academic focus. Every lunchtime, each child enjoys a hot, balanced meal carefully planned to provide essential energy and vital nutrients. The menu is not random; it is intentionally selected to support cognitive development, strengthen immunity, and address the nutritional gaps often found in food-insecure households. Sustaining this daily commitment requires ongoing community goodwill. By ensuring this foundation of care remains strong, we help keep our learners present, attentive, and ready to build a brighter, healthier future for themselves.
Scholarship Program
Since our founding, the Scholarship Program has been the heart of Elimu Ya Kenya. We identify children from the most vulnerable backgrounds—orphans, those from extreme poverty, or children whose families cannot afford even the most basic school fees—and provide them with full or partial scholarships to access quality education.
Each scholarship covers not only tuition but also uniforms, books, and daily meals, ensuring that no child is held back by circumstances beyond their control. We believe that every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and dream.
Impact: Over the years, hundreds of children have benefited from this program. Many have gone on to excel in national exams, earn places in top secondary schools, and even pursue university education. Our alumni include teachers, nurses, and community leaders who are now giving back to the very communities they came from.
Girls' Empowerment
In a world where girls are too often left unheard, Elimu ya Kenya is turning up the volume. We are championing a future where every young woman finds her voice, her confidence, and her power.
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to equality. We don't just open doors—we ensure every student, girl or boy, has the support and opportunity to walk through them. In our classrooms and on our fields, we cultivate a culture of respect and equal participation.
Our girls are nurtured and inspired through dedicated mentorship from teachers and guest experts. These sessions go beyond the curriculum, sparking conversations on skills, personal health, and resilience. We believe in building strength from the inside out.
We also challenge our girls to lead. Through debate, public speaking, and active encouragement, we help them break through self-doubt and societal stereotypes. Here, they don't just find their voice—they learn to use it with courage.
And we're redefining what's possible. From football to other arenas traditionally seen as "for boys," we encourage our girls to run, compete, and excel. At Elimu ya Kenya, we're not just breaking stereotypes—we're building a generation of fearless young leaders.
Vocational Institute
In addition to mainstream academic learning, our students are empowered with practical skills through our vocational institute, where they can pursue a trade of their choice. The institute currently offers hands-on training in tailoring and fashion design, carpentry, and film production.
We believe strongly in the power of holistic education—one that equips learners not only with knowledge but also with tangible skills they can apply in everyday life. By learning a trade while still in school, our students gain the ability to solve real-world problems within their homes and communities. These skills often become a vital source of livelihood and independence, especially for those who may transition out of the formal education system. Our goal is to give every learner an edge—an advantage that sets them apart and prepares them for life beyond the classroom.
To further enrich this experience, we are continually expanding our vocational programs to meet the evolving interests of our students and the demands of the job market. Our workshops are equipped with modern tools and materials, and our instructors are experienced professionals who mentor students with care and creativity. Students are encouraged to innovate, design, and produce items ranging from custom garments and furniture to short films and media content.
Through this approach, we are not only nurturing future leaders but also skilled artisans, entrepreneurs, and creators who can contribute meaningfully to the economy and society. At Elimu ya Kenya School, we are committed to shaping well-rounded individuals—students who leave our gates not only with strong academic credentials but also with the confidence and capability to build a better future for themselves and those around them.
